Our dream was always to paddle Pictured Rocks, but it was May, and it was cold, and we were just happy they were running cruises that time of year. Very hard, though, to take pictures from a sitting position on a crowded boat. Anyway, here’s what it looks like as you head out.

There are several impressive waterfalls, too. This is Bridal Veil Falls.
and I’m pretty sure this is Spray Falls.
One of my favorite sites, though, was this tenacious tree.
At the end, we pulled in close to Grand Island, a little tiny island that is now a National Recreation Area. No cars allowed. The “East Channel Light” is particularly picturesque.
Later on, we visited Miner’s Castle from the top so that I could get this classic shot.
