Like the Paria Townsite, the Toadstools are another site that I’ve passed a bunch of times but haven’t made time to stop for. I’m glad I did. One of the strangest environments I’ve ever seen.
I was lucky to have a stormy sky as a backdrop.
There are a bunch of different formations
some more phallic than others, though, as with many things in life, it really depends on perspective. Things that look rather robust from one angle
appear quite flaccid from another.
Even if the toadstools weren’t there, the environment is pretty cool on its own. Makes sense why they film sci-fi movies (like Planet of the Apes and Galaxy Quest) in this area. Otherworldly.
